MONDAYS

Watercolor with Monica Bankowski

We’ll get into the flow of slippery, unpredictable, wonderful watercolor! Students will focus on getting comfortable with loose and tight painting techniques to enjoy the process of watercolor. The basics of materials, value, color and “seeing” your subject will be explored. Weekly subject matter will be taken from reference, direct observation, and imagination, though students are free to choose their own ideas for paintings as well. Quilting with Lizzie Stebbins

Turning Twenty Quilt

Turning Twenty quilts are perfect for the beginning quilter. Not only are they easy to make, the end result always looks amazing. You will learn about the necessary tools and materials, including sewing machines, fabric, batting, rotary cutter, rulers and more. Sewing machines are provided. Maximum 5 students.
Quilted Jacket

Make your dream jacket by up-cycling a vintage quilt. Creating a quilted jacket from a previous quilt is a rewarding DIY project that transforms a beloved heirloom into a stylish garment. The process involves carefully selecting your quilt, preparing it for cutting, and using a jacket pattern to cut out the pieces. You will then sew the pieces together, finish the edges with bias binding, and add details like pockets and closures. Sewing machines are provided. Maximum 5 students.

Come join us every other Tuesday afternoon from 3-5pm to knit! Instruction and guidance will be provided on any project you may be working on or have on a time out in your closet. Assistance in picking and starting a new project will be available. This is a great opportunity to learn tips and tricks to improve your skills.

Join Marijke for a fun day of creating your own unique piece of painted bisque ware. She will have a variety of projects to choose from and will lead you along in your creative process.
All ages are welcome!

Federico Scipioni was taught as a young boy and motivated by his ancestors, who were also artists in the art of fine glass work. He realized his passion for glass and Italian designs by being surrounded by multiple familial generations of European traditions, influenced by history and art. Still working across the U.S. and Europe today, Federico brings extensive knowledge to the classroom.

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced students will be guided through the process of designing and completing unique stained glass pieces as well as learning the rich history behind the art of stained glass.

Get ready to roll, pinch, and press your way into the world of hand-built ceramics. You will learn the basics of hand-built ceramics using simple techniques like coils, slabs, and pinch pots. Along the way, Stacey will share helpful tips and tricks to help you create pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Explore color, texture, and pattern in your work. Basic ceramic terms and glazing techniques will be introduced to support your learning as you go. We will be using stoneware clay and firing to cone 6. What you choose to make is completely up to you! From bowls and mugs to planters or something totally unique, your creativity sets the direction.

Acrylics with Carmen Kelley

This class is designed for those who would like to learn to paint for the first time as well as those who have knowledge of color theory and want to continue to paint with Acrylics. Carmen is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and love of painting to new as well as continuing learners. The lessons will be modeled to meet each participant’s specific needs in the class.

This six-week course is designed to jumpstart your genealogy research project and learn what resources are available both online and off. This course also touches on the basics of DNA testing and how to organize and share your research with family members.

Oils and Acrylics with Andres Lopez

Andres creates a supportive and engaging environment that makes learning and creative exploration enjoyable. Each class begins with a short lecture and visual aids that introduce key concepts in fine art. Students will learn how to take a blank canvas and turn it into a finished work of art by applying foundational techniques such as value, composition, and color. Please contact the Art League for a materials list.

Woodworking with Daniel Villasuso

Learn the basics of fine furniture making in this 4-part workshop. Students will be taken through the process of making a small furniture piece from start to finish. Basics of milling, joinery, glue- up, and finishing will be explored. All materials included.
